BlackBerry-verse: the notification tray is now yours! Here’s to never missing a beat.

Hey there beloved BlackBerry-ers, we’ve got sweet news for you this week: we just released a new version of foursquare to App World, and it includes one of our favorite features, the notification tray!
The notification tray, which you can find by clicking on the ‘foursquare’ logo in your app, keeps track of all sorts of things, like alerting you when a Facebook friend joins foursquare so you can start exploring with them, or letting you know when you and your buddy both have the same place on your To-Do List (serendipity!).

Now, in one organized place, you can see everything that’s going on in your friends’ lives. So far people on Android and iPhone have really loved this feature because it lets them make the most of foursquare, even when they’re not checking in. The notification tray will keep track of when:

• a friend comments on one of your check-ins;
• there are new comments or photos on a check-in you’ve commented on;
• your friend does one of the Tips you’ve left;
• you and a friend both have the same place on your To-Do List;
• there’s a special deal at a place on your To-Do List;
• a place you’re at starts swarming;
• one of your Facebook friends joins foursquare (worlds colliding!); and,
• you’re ousted as Mayor (boo!).

This release also includes a bunch of updates to make your foursquare experience smoother:

• You’ll find better setting and account management, so you’ll be able to manage your privacy settings, password, and 3rd party apps – (this one’s for BlackBerry OS 5 and up).
• We’ve made tons of improvements to GPS and location support.
• Lots of other small tweaks and fixes!
